GAINES HALL

Gaines Hall has been in need of renovation for many years. It was built in 1961 and has not had major renovations completed in the building since that time. Beginning in the summer of 2008, Gaines Hall will be taken down to solely its vertical columns and slabs. From there the renovation will continue to add updated classrooms, offices, and labs including a new 270-person lecture theatre. The renovation is expected to be completed by summer of 2010 and has a budget allocation of $32 million. While under construction, Gaines Hall classes and labs will be re-located to other spaces on campus, including the new Chemistry/Biochemistry Building and the modular buildings north of the Chemistry/Biochemistry Building.
